Definitions, Scope, and Acceptance

These terms govern use of VWF websites, platforms, events, programs, sponsorships, donations, and content. By participating, you agree to these terms. VWF may amend them at any time. Program‑specific addenda may apply.

Eligibility and Participation

Programs, Services, and Housing

  • Transfer, rental, or sale of program housing is prohibited without consent.

Website Use, Content, and Intellectual Property

  • All content is owned or licensed by VWF.
  • Visitors may access content for personal, noncommercial use only.
  • Prohibited conduct includes security breaches, scraping, or unlawful uploads.
  • User submissions grant VWF a royalty‑free license for mission‑aligned use.

Publicity, Media, and Communications

  • Participants may consent to use of names, likenesses, and stories.
  • VWF commits to respectful portrayal of all individuals.
  • Opt‑outs may be requested via compliance email.
  • Events may be photographed or recorded.

Privacy, Security, and Data Handling

  • Information is collected only for program administration and compliance.
  • Data is shared only with service providers or regulators as required by law.
  • Records are retained per nonprofit best practices and securely deleted when appropriate.
  • Safeguards protect against unauthorized access or loss.
  • Requests for access, correction, or deletion may be sent to compliance email.

Compliance, Governance, Liability, and Disputes

  • VWF operates under federal, state, and local laws.
  • Conflict of interest and whistleblower policies are enforced.
  • Indemnity and liability limits apply to fullest extent permitted by law.
  • Force majeure events relieve VWF of liability.
  • Claims must be submitted in writing to compliance email within 60 days.
  • Disputes are governed by Alabama law and resolved by binding arbitration in Walker County, AL.
  • Severability: if one clause is invalid, the rest remain enforceable.
  • Non‑waiver: failure to enforce a provision does not waive it.

Refunds, Chargebacks, and Cancellations

  • Donations are generally non‑refundable; exceptions may be granted for errors.
  • Unauthorized chargebacks may result in suspension of participation.
  • Programs may be modified or canceled for safety, compliance, or feasibility.

Non‑Discrimination

VWF does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected category. Equal opportunity applies to donors, beneficiaries, staff, and volunteers.

Volunteer and Staff Conduct

Volunteers and staff must adhere to safety, nondiscrimination, confidentiality, and ethical conduct standards. Misconduct may result in termination of participation or employment.

Insurance and Risk Management

VWF maintains liability insurance for organizational activities. Participants assume personal risk when engaging in events or programs. VWF is not liable for personal property loss or injury outside its control.

Termination of Access

VWF reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to programs, websites, or sponsorship benefits for violations of these Terms.
